Based on the description of the idol in “The Call of Cthulhu” by H.P. Lovecraft, our statuettes are cast in a clear epoxy resin mixed with colorants and powders to look like greenish-black soapy stone with gold striations and flecks. We finish them by adding an acrylic wash and hand painting the linework to make the details pop, giving the look of ancient soapstone or jade.
